What is UPPSC Exam?

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is the leading examination board conducting various examinations for young students. UPPSC also plays a vital role in filling up the vacant positions of different departments of Uttar Pradesh State. So, candidates who apply for UPPSC Exam have to take part in this written test. In other words, it is a must to have a qualified UPPSC Exam if they are applying for any position in Uttar Pradesh State Service.

Aim of UPPSC Exam:

The main objective of the UPPSC exam is to test the competency of aspirants about education, training, and technical skills and get recruited in higher ranks posts in the organisation. In addition, its objective is to gauge the potential candidates concerning the criteria laid down by the board. The exam will be conducted at different centres across India for almost 111 various services like Graduate Teacher Training (GTT), Stenographer (SG), Assistant Engineer (AE), Assistant Collector (AC) and many more.

Exam Syllabus and Pattern for UPPSC Prelims:

The exam pattern for the UPPSC Prelims exam is not much complex. The papers will consist of 200 objective questions to be solved in the given time limit. The aspirants will be given a set of logical questions, and they have to answer them using their judgement and problem-solving skills. UPPSC Prelims comprises of two papers:

1) Paper 1 – General Studies I:

  1. a) Current events of National and International importance: 
  2. b) Indian History: 
  3. c) Indian and World Geography- Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World: 
  4. d) Indian Governance and Polity: 
  5. e) Social and Economic Development: 

Paper 2 – General Studies II (CSAT):

  1. Comprehension
  2. Interpersonal skills (including communication skills)
  3. Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning
  4. Problem Solving & Decision Making
  5. General Mental Ability
  6. Elementary Mathematics (class X level – Algebra, Statistics, Geometry and Arithmetic):
  7. General English (class X level)
  8. General Hindi (class X level)

Exam Syllabus and Pattern for UPPSC Mains:

Mains is the main examination, and the main exam marks will be considered to select candidates. Candidates who qualify for UPPSC Prelims will be called for this examination. UPPSC Mains Exam holds a weightage of 1500 marks and comprises eight papers:
